For two decades, Xiu Xiu has consistently released a string of critically lauded albums and high-profile collaborations with artists ranging from songwriters like Mitski and Sharon Van Etten, to avant-garde composers like Charlemagne Palestine. This creative prowess has garnered praise from esteemed publications and seen them tour extensively, gracing global stages from The Guggenheim to Primavera Festival.

In their latest album, Ignore Grief, Xiu Xiu explores a balance between reality and imagination. Angela Seo and Jamie Stewart each contribute vocals to half of the album. The real half is an attempt to shape the traumatic experiences of five people close to the band into something more than devastating memories. Conversely, the imaginary half abstractly expands upon the "Teen Tragedy" rock and roll genre as a means of processing the band's own intense emotions regarding these people's experiences.
