Slowdive, the UK shoegaze pioneers, have released their fourth studio album after a 22-year hiatus. Titled "Slowdive," the album showcases the band's stargazing sound with a quiet confidence. While it is sure to please the band's devoted fans, it will also capture the hearts of new listeners. The album's eight new tracks are simultaneously expansive and direct, avoiding the nostalgia trip that co-vocalist/guitarist Rachel Goswell said she wanted to avoid. The album was recorded at The Courtyard, the band's Oxfordshire studio, and mixed at the iconic Sunset Sound facility in Los Angeles by Chris Coady, who gave the album a hypnotic sheen.
