The Bolshoi may have only officially released three albums, but their fourth album, Country Life, has now been unleashed on vinyl for the first time in 2015 as part of a 5-CD set. This limited edition includes demos that were digitally restored from reference cassettes. Even more exciting, the album features a new acoustic rendition of "Dolores Jones" by Trevor Tanner himself, created exclusively for this release. The Bolshoi was a unique band, with dark and subversive songs that flirted with goth but were ultimately impossible to categorize. Their evocative lyrics were inspired by characters on the fringes of society and touched on themes of boredom, inadequacy, and violence. The band, consisting of Trevor Tanner, Nick Chown, Jan Kalicki, and Paul Clark, garnered a loyal following with their powerful live performances before disbanding in 1988.
