Chaz Bundick, a talented musician from Columbia, South Carolina, also known as Toro Y Moi, burst onto the music scene in the summer of 2009. His captivating bedroom recordings became the hottest topic of the season. Chaz's unique compositions caught the attention of critics everywhere, and his debut album, Causers of This, brilliantly blended elements of Brian Wilson's pop, 80s R&B, and Stone's Throw hip hop into a sound perfect for both dancefloors and headphones.

Originally, Chaz planned to release two records in 2010 after signing with Carpark Records - one electronic and one with live instruments. Although it didn't happen in the same year, Underneath the Pine is the second part of that vision. Drawing inspiration from film composers like Ennio Morricone and François de Roubaix, Chaz returned to his Columbia home to create new, exciting music.

The result is an album that brings to mind R. Stevie Moore's heartfelt musings, David Axelrod's grand soundscapes, Steve Reich's piano phrasing, and the funky feel of his first record. Underneath the Pine marks a new chapter for an artist whose incredible talent refuses to be limited by labels or genres.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
