Wildflowers is the album Tom Petty considered his best, and this edition finally presents it the way he intended. Released in 1994 and produced by Rick Rubin, the original record is warm, unhurried and largely acoustic, carrying You Don't Know How It Feels, You Wreck Me, It's Good To Be King and Wildflowers itself. Petty wanted it to be a double album and was talked out of it, and All The Rest restores the tracks that were cut, including Something Could Happen and Leave Virginia Alone. The additional material is not filler, which is exactly why the original decision frustrated him for the rest of his life. Across three LPs it plays as the sprawling, quietly devastating mid career statement it was meant to be.
