The Detroit quintet MC5 left an indelible mark on the rock music scene in the late 1960s and early 1970s, boasting an electrifying energy and decibel-pushing volume in their live shows. Their legacy as pivotal innovators in punk music was cemented in Rob Tyner's words: "MC5 were Punk before Punk, New Wave before New Wave, Metal before Metal, even M.C. before Hammer!" Back in the USA was their 1970 debut studio album after their live Kick Out the Jams, and featured covers of Little Richard's classic 'Tutti-Frutti' and Chuck Berry's 'Back in the USA'.
