In the late 1990s, Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson and his partner in life and creative ventures, Jhonn Balance, made the exciting move from London to the charming rural town of Weston-super-Mare. This shift opened the door to a vibrant environment for all things "musick, musick, musick!", welcoming an ever-changing lineup of new members, including the talented Thighpaulsandra. During this enriching period, Coil's discography nearly doubled, and it was during this time that Thighpaulsandra simply asked: why doesn't Coil play live? After a 16-year wait and thanks to the swift advancement of technology like MacBooks, DAWs, VSTs, and plugins, Coil finally had the opportunity to bring their music to the stage, just as they had always envisioned. Performing live allowed them to embrace the exhilarating risks and creative freedoms of real-time sonic manipulation. As Sleazy beautifully put it: "Reshap(ing) the show minute by minute... the direction is very spontaneous, not so much in the way of like jazz improvisation but in a kind stream of consciousness… Thighpaulsandra brought us his wisdom, and he was able to convince us we could do it." When they performed live, Coil felt "like a snake shedding its skin," evolving into something "completely different" every six months. In preparation for 2004’s "Even an Evil Fatigue" live series, Coil began crafting their next iconic masterpiece, Black Antlers

In collaboration with Thighpaulsandra & Danny Hyde. This special official reissue marks its very first legal availability on vinyl! It features remastered audio by Josh Bonati from session materials. It includes a download card with "Wraiths And Strays (From Montreal)" from the 2004 version of Black Antlers, originally recorded by Thighpaulsandra in those early sessions.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.

Hold up… what were we saying?
