Any album that takes its title from a Keith Richards quote (“Friction, baby” was his response to an interviewer asking him what the secret was behind the durability of his partnership with Mick Jagger) already has a lot going for it and carries a sense of responsibility to honor the legacy of the Glimmer Twins. Luckily, this 1996 album from the beloved New Orleans alternative rock band Better Than Ezra doesn’t mess around. After their success with Deluxe, BTE finally had a proper recording budget, and with producer Don Gehman (known for working with R.E.M. and Hootie and the Blowfish), they skillfully blended songwriter Kevin Griffin’s Southern charm with the powerful guitar sounds of the time, creating a college radio favorite led by hits like “King of New Orleans” and “Desperately Wanting.” The album comes on tan vinyl with a hidden track and includes a printed inner sleeve. Fully approved by the band…Ezralites, rejoice!
Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
Hold up… what were we saying?
