The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows was originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland. During the lockdown, Albarn returned to the music and expanded the work to 11 tracks that explore themes of fragility, loss, emergence, and rebirth. The resulting album is a collection of panoramic songs with Albarn as the storyteller. The album title is derived from a John Clare poem called Love and Memory. Albarn states, "While making this record, I have been on my own dark journey, which led me to believe that a pure source might still exist." The record is a testament to Albarn's perpetual musical shifts and explorations, showcasing expansive orchestral arrangements nestling with intimate melodies and discordance brushing up against infectious majesty, all set to some of Albarn's most arresting vocal performances to date. The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows vividly documents the emotional ebb and flow of the human condition, in all its extremes, serving as a soul-enriching document for our times.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
