Katie Crutchfield's debut as Waxahatchee began the way the best records often do — alone with a guitar and something to say. Recorded over one week at her family's house in Alabama between Christmas and New Year's, American Weekend is eleven songs of raw, unadorned confession: just Crutchfield's voice, an acoustic guitar, and the occasional hum of ambient room tone. Before this, she'd been playing punk in P.S. Eliot alongside her twin sister Allison. Here, she strips everything back — writing about youth, restlessness, small-town cycles, and the specific ache of knowing your life is about to change. "I don't care if I'm too young to be unhappy," she sings on "Grass Stain," a line that anchors the whole record. Originally self-released on Bandcamp in January 2012, American Weekend now stands as the quiet opening chapter of one of indie rock's most vital ongoing careers. Now pressed on red and white swirl vinyl.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
