It explores feelings once hidden away, creating a meaningful dialogue between happiness, hedonism, and self-destruction. The songs, often featuring fictional characters, are vibrant and groove-oriented, yet rooted in personal insights about intimacy, toxic behaviors, drug use, and fears of the future. During recording, they sensed a shift and embraced it, jokingly calling themselves "evil TOPS," shares Penny. "We're often perceived as gentle or naive in the Canadian way, but we challenged ourselves to capture the world around us more honestly."
