The Talking Heads gave us some fantastic side projects and spinoffs—like David Byrne & Brian Eno’s My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and Jerry Harrison’s The Red and the Black—but none can match the pure funkiness, danceability, and sheer joy of Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth’s Tom Tom Club! Originally created as a playful break from the ambitious artistic vibe of the Heads’ Remain in Light album, the duo’s self-titled 1981 debut was recorded in beautiful Barbados, featuring Weymouth’s sisters along with Adrian Belew and Steven Stanley from the Remain in Light band. It not only produced hit singles like “Genius of Love” and “Wordy Rappinghood” but also left a lasting impact on music. This was the vibrant sound of downtown New York engaging with and celebrating the rising hip hop movement. It's a mix that resonated with numerous artists in the ‘80s and ‘90s, from Madonna to Mariah Carey to the Beastie Boys and many more. Weymouth and Frantz continued to create more albums under the Tom Tom Club name, but this debut remains a classic. Real Gone Music is thrilled to present Tom Tom Club in a gorgeous Clear with Pink, White & Green Splatter Vinyl edition that beautifully pays homage to its Barbados roots and complements the album’s colorful cover. It's all about fun, pure and natural fun! Only 1200 copies made.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
