Tom Tom Club is what happened when Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz stepped out of Talking Heads in 1981 and recorded at Compass Point in Nassau with no interest in being serious. "Genius Of Love" became one of the most sampled records ever made, carrying everything from Mariah Carey to Grandmaster Flash, and "Wordy Rappinghood" got there first with a nursery rhyme over a drum machine. The whole album is loose, funny and rhythm led, and it has aged better than most of what surrounded it. This is an original Japanese pressing, catalogue P-11128, and Japanese pressings of the era are collected for their quality control, quieter surfaces and sturdier packaging. The OBI strip is present, which most surviving copies have lost. One copy only, graded as received.
