Originally released by 4AD in 1986, Throwing Muses’ self-titled debut remains one of the most singular and influential albums of the era. Recorded while Kristin Hersh, Tanya Donelly, Leslie Langston and David Narcizo were still in their teens, the album’s jagged guitars, unexpected melodies and emotional intensity helped lay groundwork for the alternative rock, grunge and riot grrrl scenes that followed.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, 4AD presents a newly remastered edition of this long out-of-print classic. Still as thrilling, strange and melodic as ever, Throwing Muses captures the band at the beginning of a remarkable career and stands as an essential document of 1980s independent rock. This indie-exclusive edition is pressed on Oxblood Red vinyl.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
