Sufjan Stevens & Angelo De Augustine - A Beginner's Mind - Green Color Vinyl
Old friends and Asthmatic Kitty labelmates Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine retreated to a cabin in upstate New York with a plan: watch movies at night, write songs about them by day. A Beginner's Mind (2021) is the result, 14 songs that use films as diverse as The Wizard of Oz, Hellraiser III, All About Eve and Bring It On Again as springboards for reflections on life, love and fear.
The music is warm and unhurried, built on fingerpicked guitar and the two singers' closely blended voices, often recalling Simon & Garfunkel at their most tender. "Reach Out" and "Back to Oz" are gentle highlights, while "Murder and Crime" shows the darker shadows lurking at the edges. Ghanaian artist Daniel Anum Jasper, known for his hand-painted movie posters, created the vivid artwork.
This limited indie-exclusive edition is pressed on Emerald City Green vinyl with a printed inner sleeve. A lovely, distinctive pressing for anyone who collects Sufjan's catalogue.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
