Songs: Ohia - Didn't It Rain - Eco Color Vinyl Record
Didn't It Rain is the sixth Songs: Ohia album and the one where Jason Molina's method became the point. Recorded in a single room in South Philadelphia in 2002 with no overdubs, the players sat close enough to hear each other breathe, and what went to tape is what happened. Molina takes the title from the Mahalia Jackson spiritual, and the record carries that lineage of hard-won consolation into songs about debt, weather, cities and the search for somewhere to belong.
The band stays patient. Organ and pedal steel drift underneath, Molina's voice cracks where a studio would have smoothed it over, and the long pieces at the center of the record hold their tension for minutes at a time. It is the closest he came to Muscle Shoals soul without ever leaving the porch.
This single LP edition is pressed on eco color vinyl, made from reclaimed material, so no two copies look quite the same. Essential Molina, and a good place to start.

Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
