Social Distortion's self-titled third album dropped in 1990 and turned a scrappy Orange County punk band into one of the biggest names in American rock. Produced by Dave Jerden, it split the difference between Ramones-style punk and sun-scorched rockabilly, landing Mike Ness's ragged voice right where it belonged.

"Story of My Life" became the anthem, a five-and-a-half minute slow burn that still sounds like the last song of the night at every dive bar in America. "Ball and Chain" hits just as hard with its grinding riff and gut-punch chorus, while Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" gets a punk makeover that somehow feels both irreverent and completely sincere. The album opens with "So Far Away" setting a restless, road-worn tone, and deeper cuts like "Sick Boys" and "Drug Train" bring the raw speed that the band's early fans showed up for. Certified Gold by the RIAA and still selling over 35 years later, this is the record that made Social Distortion a household name.

This Music on Vinyl pressing comes on 180g red color vinyl with insert included.
