Slint's untitled (albini rough mixes) opens a window onto the moment everything changed for the Louisville band, pressed on oxblood swirl vinyl as a 45 RPM 12" limited to 1,000 copies worldwide.

In 1989 Steve Albini invited Slint into the studio to use time left open when another band failed to show. He sent them home with quick mixes of "Glenn" and "Rhoda," and when Touch and Go's Corey Rusk heard the tape, he was hooked. The label soon agreed to put out the band's next album, which became Spiderland, one of the founding records of post-rock.

These are those original rough mixes, restored and remastered from the master tapes by Bob Weston in 2025. They first appeared on Grey Matter vinyl for Record Store Day 2026, and that pressing vanished immediately. The tension, the space and the sudden bursts of noise that defined Slint are all here in raw form. Essential for anyone who has worn out their copy of Spiderland.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
