Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Soundtrack - Japanese Vintage Vinyl

The 1978 film Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band starred Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees, and its double-album soundtrack is one of the most fascinating curiosities of the era. Produced by George Martin, it reimagines Beatles songs with a cast that still raises eyebrows.

Along with Frampton and the Bee Gees, you get Aerosmith's heavy "Come Together", Earth, Wind & Fire's horn-blasting "Got To Get You Into My Life", Billy Preston's lively "Get Back", Alice Cooper's eerie "Because", and turns from George Burns and Steve Martin. Spanning four sides, it is a snapshot of late seventies pop and rock trying its hand at the Beatles songbook.

This is the Japanese edition on RSO, catalogue MWA-9101~2, in a gatefold jacket. Japanese pressings of this period are valued for quiet vinyl and complete packaging, which makes this one a favourite with collectors.

A fun conversation piece for Beatles and soundtrack collectors.
