Queen - Live Aid, Wembley Stadium, July 13th, 1985 - Vinyl Record

Twenty minutes on 13 July 1985 is all it took for Queen to walk off with Live Aid. The first half is that set: "Bohemian Rhapsody" into "Radio Ga Ga" with 72,000 people clapping in unison, then "Hammer to Fall", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and the one-two of "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions". Mercury and May returned later in the evening for "Is This the World We Created?", and that closes the first half.

The flip goes back to the other end of the story. In December 1971 the band recorded a demo session at De Lane Lea Studios in Wembley, before a record deal, before the first album. "Keep Yourself Alive", "The Night Comes Down", "Great King Rat", "Jesus" and "Liar" are all here in early form, and the songs are already recognisably Queen even without the production that later defined them.

Two sessions, fourteen years apart, on one record. A good document for collectors who want both the peak and the starting point.
