Recorded at Fort Apache Studios in Boston, these seventeen demos capture Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering at the very beginning, already channeling the loud-quiet-loud dynamics and surrealist songwriting that would reshape alternative rock forever.
You can hear the DNA of Surfer Rosa and Doolittle taking shape in these raw, urgent recordings — including early versions of "Here Comes Your Man," "Broken Face," "Down to the Well," and "Rock a My Soul" alongside tracks that never made it to a studio album.
