Led Zeppelin - Mudslide: Live In Vancouver 3/21/70 - Vinyl Record
Vancouver, 21 March 1970. Led Zeppelin were months away from Led Zeppelin III, and this soundboard catches them balanced between the heavy blues that made their name and the folk-leaning material that would reshape it. The playing is loose in the best way, with plenty of room for Page and Plant to stretch a song past its studio length.
The set is a strong one. "Since I've Been Loving You" was still new to audiences and arrives raw and unhurried, "Heartbreaker" is played with real teeth, "Thank You" and "Ramble On" show the quieter turn already taking hold, and "Whole Lotta Love" closes things out. It has long been cited as one of the earliest unofficial Led Zeppelin live LPs, which is a good part of its appeal for collectors chasing the band's 1970 shows.
An easy pick for anyone who prefers Zeppelin caught live over Zeppelin polished.
