Jose Gonzalez - Veneer - Vinyl Record
José González's debut album Veneer arrived from Gothenburg in 2003 and quietly rewired what acoustic music could sound like. Armed with nothing but a nylon-string classical guitar and a voice that barely rises above a whisper, the Swedish-Argentine songwriter crafted eleven tracks of hypnotic, fingerpicked folk that sold over 700,000 copies and turned him into one of indie music's most distinctive voices.
The album's centerpiece is his reimagining of The Knife's synth-pop anthem "Heartbeats" — stripped down to just voice and guitar, it became one of the decade's most recognizable covers after soundtracking the iconic Sony Bravia bouncing balls commercial. But Veneer is far more than one song. "Crosses" builds tension through hypnotic repetition, "Slow Moves" opens the record with understated grace, and "Lovestain" packs genuine emotional weight into barely two minutes. Every track rewards close listening — González finds more beauty in restraint than most artists find in excess.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
