During the Year of Punk, the Jam burst onto the music scene with their debut album, which became a classic. The band's approach was raw and aggressive, which was in line with the spirit of the times, but their songs and sound were rooted in the mod movement of the mid-1960s. If you are a fan of early Who, Creation, and other mod bands, you will appreciate the heart of their music. 

The Rickenbacker guitars sound thick, and skinny ties no longer seem geeky. If you're a fan of punk or mod, this album is a must-listen.
