Indigo De Souza - Any Shape You Take - Opaque Yellow color Vinyl

Any Shape You Take is the second album from North Carolina songwriter Indigo De Souza, released by Saddle Creek in 2021. Where her debut, I Love My Mom, was made at home in Asheville, this time she stepped into a proper studio: Betty's, Sylvan Esso's space in Chapel Hill, co-producing the record with Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Waxahatchee).

The result is bigger and bolder without losing the raw, confessional edge that drew people to her in the first place. De Souza has said the album came out of a turbulent stretch of her life, a period of existential crises and shifting perspective that led her toward self-love. "Kill Me" lurches from tenderness to catharsis, "Hold U" is a bright, hook-filled reassurance that it's going to be alright, and "Real Pain" erupts into one of the most startling moments in recent indie rock. The striking cover art was painted by her mother.

Pressed here on opaque yellow vinyl, it's a vivid home for a record about embracing change in every shape it takes.
