The Gaslight Anthem's The '59 Sound is the record that took the New Brunswick, New Jersey band from basement shows to the wider rock world, and it remains their defining statement.

Released on SideOneDummy in 2008, the band's second album fuses Jersey punk energy with the classic songwriting of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and the great soul singers. Brian Fallon fills the songs with radio static, old cars, lost friends and late-night drives, borrowing lines and imagery from the music he grew up on while making it entirely his own. The title track, "Great Expectations," "Old White Lincoln" and "Here's Looking at You, Kid" are fan favorites that still anchor their live sets, and the album's nostalgic warmth feels tailor-made for a turntable.

Twelve songs, no wasted moments, and the kind of choruses that beg to be sung back loud.

A cornerstone for fans of heartland punk and anyone who loves a record that sounds like summer in a beat-up car. Bring this one home.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
