Funkadelic - Funkadelic - Transparent Purple Color Vinyl Record
Funkadelic's self-titled 1970 debut returns on transparent purple vinyl as part of Org Music's Westbound Records reissue series, cut from high-resolution tape transfers. It is a radical collision of psychedelic rock, gospel, blues and soul, and a genre-defying statement that pushed Black music somewhere entirely new.
Where Motown aimed for polish and crossover appeal, George Clinton's crew dove headfirst into distortion, improvisation and spiritual ambiguity. Backed by a ferocious young band including Eddie Hazel, Billy Bass Nelson, Tawl Ross, Tiki Fulwood and Mickey Atkins, the album trades convention for raw groove and heavy fuzz. "I Got A Thing, You Got A Thing, Everybody's Got A Thing" and "I Bet You" pulse with menace and joy, while "Mommy, What's A Funkadelic?" and "What Is Soul" frame the record with surreal monologues that blend street philosophy and space-age gospel.
A foundational record of P-Funk, psychedelic soul and heavy funk, and a must for any serious collection.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
