Field Medic, the lo-fi bedroom folk artist, believes that any song that is true is a good song. This principle is reflected in his new album, "fade into the dawn," which is his first proper full-length release for Run For Cover and his first since becoming a full-time musician. The album is comprised of ten sparse, acoustic tracks that candidly explore the complexities of achieving success and self-perception. Sullivan delves deeper into themes of doubt, darkness, anxiety, and the pros and cons of living out a dream. He uses black humor and introspection to explore his relationship with alcohol, the meaning of the mundane, and the duality of life on perpetual tour. He sings "I used to be a romantic / Now I'm a dude in a laminate" expressing the allure and tedium of being on the road.
