Feist returns with Multitudes, her sixth solo album and first since 2017's Pleasure, pressed here on limited clear vinyl for the indie exclusive edition. The record took shape after the birth of her daughter and the sudden death of her father, two life-altering events that left the Canadian songwriter with “nothing performative in me anymore.” What followed is her most unguarded writing: a raw realism touched with otherworldly beauty, meditations on mortality and connection that still resolve toward hope.

Feist produced the album with longtime collaborators Robbie Lackritz and Mocky, with additional production from Blake Mills and string arrangements by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. Many of these songs were workshopped in front of audiences during her communal Multitudes stage show across 2021 and 2022, and that mutuality is audible in the finished takes.  A quietly essential entry in the Canadian alt-pop canon, and one worth hearing on clear vinyl.
