"Taking Liberties" is an album compiled by Nick Lowe, featuring mostly B-sides, but also two previously unreleased tracks. It includes notable songs such as "Radio Sweetheart," "My Funny Valentine," "Big Tears," and "Just A Memory." Born as Declan Patrick MacManus, Elvis Costello began his career as a British singer/songwriter in London's pub rock scene in the early 1970s. He was later associated with the first wave of the British punk and new wave movement in the mid-to-late 1970s. He recorded his critically acclaimed debut album in 1977 and subsequently formed the Attractions as his backing band. Even after almost 40 years since his rise to prominence, he remains one of the most relevant artists of his generation, as his music continues to evolve.
