Doobie Brothers - One Step Closer - Japanese Vintage Vinyl
One Step Closer is the Doobie Brothers' ninth studio album, released in 1980 and produced by longtime collaborator Ted Templeman. It was the band's last studio record before their 1982 breakup, and the final one with Michael McDonald until 2014.
A refreshed lineup gave it a new flavor: John McFee joined on guitar and Cornelius Bumpus added tenor and soprano saxophone, organ and vocals to the band's polished blue-eyed soul. "Real Love" reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100, the title track became another top 40 single, and the album climbed to number three on the Billboard 200 and went platinum. "Dedicate This Heart", "No Stopping Us Now" and "South Bay Strut" keep the groove smooth and soulful.
This is the Japanese edition on Warner Bros., catalogue P-10850W, made by Warner-Pioneer. Its quiet, carefully pressed vinyl does justice to the layered keyboards and horn lines.
A fitting final chapter of the McDonald era for any yacht rock shelf.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
