Chastity Belt's rendition of "Loaded Painted Red" beautifully intertwines with 764-Hero's original, transforming it into a shimmering, expansive version with gentle clarity. This song has always carried a deep emotional weight, echoing the late '90s Pacific Northwest melancholy. In their very first cover recording, Chastity Belt explores that feeling further, stretching it like a held breath. Lydia Lund adds a fresh guitar line, gracefully pulling the song into their unique style, circling around its core sentiment. Julia Shapiro shares, "I've been a fan of 764-Hero for a while, and 'Loaded Painted Red' is one of my favorites! It was a challenge to do the song justice because the original is so perfect, but we really enjoyed reimagining it and making it our own." Originally released in 1998 on 764-Hero's album Get Here and Stay (Up Records), "Loaded Painted Red" has long been a beloved track, a tender yet intense reflection. The new split 7" pairs their cover with the original, symbolizing a full-circle moment as 764-Hero's catalog joins the Suicide Squeeze family. Together, both versions weave a timeless story, blending decades into a single breath amidst the golden hour glow of the Pacific Northwest.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
