The backing band reads like a Memphis hall of fame: Al Green's guitarist Mabon "Teenie" Hodges, his Hi Rhythm Section bandmate Leroy "Flick" Hodges on bass, and Steve Potts of Booker T. and the MG's on drums. Together, they built a warm, unhurried foundation for Marshall's most soulful vocal performances.
