Cat Power-The Covers Record [120g Vinyl]
Released by Matador in 2000, The Covers Record finds Chan Marshall stripping other people's songs down to their bones. With little more than her voice, a guitar or a piano, she slows everything down until each song sounds newly discovered and entirely her own.
The opener is the most famous example: a version of the Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" with the chorus removed, turned into something hushed and uneasy. From there she moves through Bob Dylan's "Kingsport Town" and "Paths of Victory," Moby Grape's "Naked If I Want To," Michael Hurley's "Sweedeedee," the Velvet Underground's "I Found a Reason" and Smog's "Red Apples," alongside a haunting "Wild Is the Wind" and a gentle "Sea of Love." She even revisits her own "In This Hole."
Pressed on 120-gram vinyl, it is a quiet, late-night record that belongs in any singer-songwriter collection.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
