Black Marble - A Different Arrangement - Black & White Marble Color Vinyl Record
A Different Arrangement is the 2012 debut album from Black Marble, the project led by Chris Stewart, originally recorded as a duo with Ty Kube. Released by Hardly Art, it has become a cult touchstone of modern darkwave, and this reissue brings it back on striking black and white marble vinyl.
Following the chilly coldwave of their debut EP Weight Against the Door, the album opened up the sound. Melodic, Peter Hook-inspired basslines drive the songs, sentimental synth lines layer on top, and Stewart’s deep, reverb-soaked baritone floats through it all. Opener “Cruel Summer” sets the mood, “A Great Design” shimmers with forward momentum, and “Limitations” leans into shadowy atmosphere. The influence of early synth pioneers like Thomas Leer and Robert Rental is everywhere, as is a handmade, DIY approach that keeps the machines sounding human.
Essential listening for fans of cold wave, post-punk and 80s synth pop, and a handsome pressing to pull off the shelf on late nights.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.
Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
