Arctic Monkeys - Suck It and See - Vinyl Record
Suck It and See is Arctic Monkeys' fourth album and the most melodic record in their catalogue. Cut at Sound City in Los Angeles with James Ford producing, it followed the murk of Humbug with twelve songs built on clean guitar lines, big choruses and some of Alex Turner's most quotable writing. There is still muscle here, "Brick By Brick" and "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" hit hard, but the heart of the record is in the ballads: "Piledriver Waltz", "Love Is A Laserquest" and the title track, where Turner drops the wisecracks and sings straight. Released on Domino in 2011, it is the album fans keep rediscovering years later, and the bridge between the desert rock of Humbug and the slow swagger of AM. Pressed on black vinyl. Worth adding to the collection.
