The music of the Atlanta-based trio Omni has always been characterized by its fast pace and high impact. Their fourth album, Souvenir, which is also their second release under the Sub Pop label, is their most powerful work yet. The band took a break from music during the pandemic, which was the longest downtime they've ever had. As a result, they came into this recording session with a lot of pent-up energy. Guitarist Frankie Broyles, singer/bassist Philip Frobos, and drummer Chris Yonker channeled all their creative energy into creating sharp, driving songs that are instantly gripping. The album features chopping riffs, staccato beats, and wiry melodies.
