Simon & Garfunkel - Golden Double Series - Japanese Vintage Vinyl

This is a compilation that only ever existed in Japan. CBS/Sony's Golden Double Series gave Simon & Garfunkel twenty-four tracks across two records, running from "He Was My Brother" and the early Greenwich Village material through "Bookends Theme" and "America" to "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "The Boxer". Sequenced roughly chronologically, it works as a proper career survey rather than a hits package, and it includes several songs that the Western greatest-hits albums of the era left off entirely.

The set is catalogue SOPW-29/30, in a gold embossed gatefold picture sleeve with an integral biography and lyric booklet. CBS/Sony built the Golden Double Series as a domestic double-album range, which is why this configuration was never issued outside Japan.
