Camper Van Beethoven's 1985 debut is one of the great American oddball records: folk, ska, surf, punk and Eastern European instrumentals shuffled together with a straight face. "Take The Skinheads Bowling" became the college radio anthem, but the album's real charm sits in the corners, from the loping "Border Ska" to the deadpan travelogue of "Payed Vacation: Greece" and the closing "Ambiguity Song." Seventeen tracks, most of them under three minutes, and it never once tips into novelty. This is the 2026 second edition color repress, pressed on limited mustard color vinyl with matching yellow artwork, following the 40th anniversary reissue. It uses the band's own preferred running order rather than the original 1985 sequence. Pressing runs are small on these Cooking Vinyl color editions, so it is worth grabbing while the mustard is around.
