Note: This record has a small seam split on the outer cover. The album is still brand new, factory-sealed, and the vinyl is guaranteed. To make up for the minor flaw, we’ve discounted it for big savings.

After the sample collage of Paul's Boutique baffled the charts, the Beastie Boys went back to picking up instruments. Check Your Head, released in 1992, is the sound of three rappers plugging in at G-Son Studios in Atwater Village, letting the bass rumble and the organ wheeze, and trusting that the mess would hold together. It did, and it changed what a hip hop record was allowed to be.

"So What'cha Want" arrives snarling through a fuzz pedal, "Pass the Mic" sets the template for a decade of underground rap, and instrumentals like "Groove Holmes" and "In 3's" show a band genuinely enjoying playing together. Mario Caldato Jr. keeps everything gritty and low-slung, with Money Mark's keyboards giving the whole thing its warmth. Punk, funk, jazz breaks and hardcore sit side by side without apology.

Twenty tracks across four sides. A cornerstone record for any collection built on records that took a risk.

Shipping
Orders typically ship within two business days. Media Mail might be budget-friendly, but it travels at a glacial pace and gets little love from the postal service. For faster, smoother delivery, choose USPS Priority or UPS/USPS Ground.

Returns
Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.

If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.

After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.

Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
