Sounds of Summer has been the go-to Beach Boys collection since it first came out in 2003, and this expanded edition from UMe marks the band's 60th anniversary. All 30 tracks are newly remastered, and many appear in fresh stereo mixes made in 2021, including one song heard in stereo for the first time.

The running order moves through the band's whole story. The first record covers the early surf and car songs, "Surfin' Safari", "Surfin' U.S.A.", "Little Deuce Coupe" and "Fun, Fun, Fun", then turns inward with "In My Room" and the Pet Sounds trio of "God Only Knows", "Sloop John B" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice". The second record runs from "Barbara Ann" and "Heroes and Villains" to later hits like "Kokomo", finishing on "Good Vibrations".

It is pressed on two 180g black LPs in printed sleeves, with updated photos and liner notes, and comes with a 12" x 12" lithograph. An ideal starting point, and a great gift for any fan.
