Hiroshi Miyagawa - Arrivederci Yamato - Anime - Japanese Vintage Vinyl
Arrivederci Yamato collects Hiroshi Miyagawa's music for Farewell To Space Battleship Yamato: In The Name Of Love, the 1978 feature film that carried the anime saga to the big screen once more. As the Yamato crew faces the Comet Empire of Gatlantis, Miyagawa composed and conducted a score that pairs a full orchestra with electric guitar, bass and drums.
The album moves from the grand "Overture" and the looming "White Comet" to the stirring "Andromeda" and the tender "Theresa Forever". The second half opens with a three-part suite for the rival commander Desler, then builds through "Gatlantis" and "Great Love" to the closing "From Yamato With Love".
This is the Japanese edition on Nippon Columbia, catalogue CQ-7011, released the same summer as the film. Anime score LPs of the late seventies were made with real care for devoted fans, and this one remains a cornerstone of any Yamato collection.
Essential listening for fans of Space Battleship Yamato and classic anime music.
