Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans - Vinyl Record
Released in 2004 between the state-sized ambition of Michigan and Illinois, Seven Swans is Sufjan Stevens at his most intimate. Recorded with Daniel Smith of Danielson, partly in Smith's New Jersey home, the album strips things back to banjo, acoustic guitar, soft piano and Stevens' near-whispered voice.
These are songs of faith, doubt and devotion told through vivid stories. "To Be Alone With You" became one of his best-known love songs, "Sister" slowly unfolds from a long instrumental passage into something raw, and the title track builds into the album's most dramatic moment before "The Transfiguration" closes things with a hymn-like singalong. Fans of Iron & Wine, Nick Drake and early Bon Iver will feel right at home.
This Asthmatic Kitty pressing keeps the record's quiet, close-up sound, which is exactly how it should be heard. A beautiful entry point for new listeners and an essential for longtime fans.

Unopened returns accepted within 30 days — you cover shipping.
If your record arrives damaged or folded (thanks, postal service), reach out ASAP so we can fix it.
After 30 days, it’s yours to keep forever.
Avoid extreme heat or sunlight. Definitely don’t let it mingle with any Justin Bieber records. Treat it like your grandma — gentle, respectful, and quiet during Murder, She Wrote.
