The Duran Duran debut is the sound of five men from Birmingham deciding that Chic and Roxy Music belonged in the same band. "Planet Earth" and "Girls On Film" arrived in 1981 with John Taylor's bass doing most of the heavy lifting, and "Careless Memories" still has more menace than their reputation allows. This Japanese pressing also carries "Is There Something I Should Know?" at the top of side one, which the original UK release did not. Catalogue EMS-91062 on EMI. Colin Thurston produced, having engineered Bowie's "Heroes" before turning to the Birmingham scene. One copy only, graded as received.
