Asia's 1982 debut was the biggest selling album in America that year, made by four musicians who had already done the difficult version of this job in Yes, King Crimson, ELP and Buggles. Mike Stone produced, and the result trades progressive rock sprawl for compression: "Heat Of The Moment" and "Only Time Will Tell" are three-minute hooks built by people capable of twenty-minute suites. Steve Howe and Geoff Downes are all over it. This is an original Japanese pressing, catalogue 25AP-2299 on Geffen. The sleeve carries Roger Dean's sea-dragon painting, the first of several he made for the band. One copy only, graded as received.
