I Don't Want You Anymore is the fourth Cherry Glazerr album, released on Secretly Canadian in 2023 after a four-year gap. Clementine Creevy spent those years, in her words, "taking a hard look at myself, at my relationships, and writing about it," and the result is some of the most personal, exposed music she has made.
It is also her first time producing since the band's teenage garage rock debut Haxel Princess, this time alongside Yves Rothman, known for his work with Yves Tumor. Every track pulls Cherry Glazerr somewhere new. "Bad Habit" builds from a looping vocal into a woozy downtempo dance song without a guitar in sight, "Ready for You" rides a funky staccato verse into a huge, fuzzy riff, and lead single "Soft Like a Flower" is what Creevy cheerfully calls her "Evanescence moment," with longtime bandmate Sami Perez joining on the chorus.
Heart-on-sleeve and a lot of fun, it is a strong pick for fans of indie rock with real bite.
