 Originally released in 1996, Nirvana's From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah features 16 dynamic live recordings from 1989 to 1994. From Seattle to Springfield, London to Amsterdam, the album captures the band's electrifying energy on stage in a variety of venues. As bassist Krist Novoselic explains, "It's a fierce record that showcases the best of Nirvana. We hope it gives fans a taste of what our live shows were like. We picked songs that we played every night." While their previous live album, MTV Unplugged in New York (1994), highlighted their softer side, From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah represents "Nirvana in their rawest form." Two tracks were recorded before their iconic album Nevermind, and the rest were captured during their 1991 world tour, including "Drain You," "Aneurysm," and "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
