モデストマウスは、1993年にワシントンで結成されたアメリカのインディーロックバンドです。 1996年のデビュー以来、彼らのラインナップは、歌手/作詞家/ギタリストのアイザック・ブロック、ドラマーのジェレミア・グリーン、ベーシストのエリック・ジュディを中心にしています。ザ・スミスの元ギタリストであるジョニー・マーが2006年に3年間バンドに参加しました。
このバンドは2000年以来、主流の大きな成功を収めており、3枚目のフルアルバム（2000年）であるThe Moon＆Antarcticaを皮切りに、インディーロックの普及をリードするバンドの1つとなっています。
