The song "Santa Baby" was originally released in 1953 and performed by Eartha Kitt with Henri René and His Orchestra. It was written by composer Phillip Springer, who later called it one of his weakest works. In 1951, Patti Page, an American country singer, had a top-charting hit with "Frosty The Snowman" and was considered one of the most popular female artists of the 1950s. Another notable hit from that era was "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" by Johnny Marks, which was first recorded by 13-year-old Brenda Lee in 1958. The album concludes with "Happy New Year Baby," a song by Howard Greenfield and Neil Sedaka, performed by Jo Ann Campbell, who has a special place in rock & roll history.
