The year 2024 is a special one as it marks the 40th anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber's beloved Starlight Express, which first dazzled audiences at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre back in 1984. To celebrate this milestone, we’re excited to share highlights from the original cast recording on a unique collector's 1LP Zoetrope. This exciting release is perfectly timed with a brand new production of Starlight Express, opening on June 8, 2024, at the specially built Starlight Auditorium at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. Get ready to be swept away into a world of speed, lively songs, and captivating storytelling, as a talented cast of 40 performers whiz around and above the stage. They'll be bringing some of musical theatre's most cherished songs to life, including "AC/DC," "Rolling Stock," "Light at the End of the Tunnel,” and the timeless "Starlight Express.” The limited edition Zoetrope showcases the original cast, including Stephanie Lawrence, Frances Ruffelle, Jess Shankley, Jeffrey Daniel, and Ray Shell. It also features a special bonus track from the 1992 London re-launch. Each side, beautifully crafted by Zoetrope expert Drew Tetz, will come alive with movement when spun under the right light or captured on your phone, turning music and magic into an unforgettable experience.
